Find out a little more about the team behind Heller Technology Consulting
I design and develop websites for a living and for fun. I wrote my first computer program at eight years old, as a means to get our old family computer to play a racing game. I started creating websites in middle school, in the early 1990's before there really was much of an internet to speak of. But I was fascinated with this new technology that allowed you to reach so many people so quickly and easily.
I was lucky enough to have basically chosen my college major back when I was eight years old, and so I graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Massacshusetts, Amherst. I continued my education in computers at Villanova University and a few years later graduated with a Masters of Computer Science.
Feeling comfortable with my knowledge of the development side of website creation, I then focused on other aspects of websites that are just as important, such as their graphical design, usability, copywriting, marketing, and search engine optimization. I have attended conferences such as An Event Apart and Pubcon to further my knowledge in these areas. I also consistently reference Leanne for all things design; after all, she is an art major.
I feel very strongly that a website is only as good as the sum of its parts. A beautiful design that fails to render correctly in most browsers; a perfectly coded website that is complex to use; a near perfect website that no one can find - these are all the result of too narrow a focus. I make it my goal to be sure that a site is well rounded in every respect.
I chose web development because it's fun to work with people who are excited about their websites. I like coordinating the unique requests each company or individual has for their website, and I like working with Jon to set up technological shortcuts to make website management easier and more efficient. Being involved in web development helps me to stay current with the constant stream of technological innovation.
I am also a Project and Operations Manager specializing in business development, team coordination and maximizing internal efficiencies. I have experience in problem solving, graphic design, technology and analytics. I am also interested in project management, consulting and online social networking.
I have been an artist all my life, and I have a degree to prove that I am 100% qualified to make esoteric, creative statements by throwing paint at things. These days, technology has won out and I skip the paint and just use Photoshop brushes.
I like reading, gardening, and working with people. I find everything interesting, as long as the person describing it to me does. Weird things about me: I have no sense of nostalgia, I once made over 1000 paper cranes, and I will eat beef, but not chicken or fish.
